Recently, Shangwei Power has announced another success in its overseas partnerships—a batch of customized 5kW and 10kW off-grid solar energy storage systems has completed production testing and been successfully shipped to South America. Tailored to the unique power consumption needs and natural conditions of the South American market, these systems will provide stable and reliable clean energy solutions for local households and small-to-medium-sized commercial and industrial users, serving as yet another flagship project for the company as it continues to expand its presence in overseas renewable energy markets.

In terms of core system configuration, both solutions are designed with “high-efficiency adaptation and stable operation” as their core principles, ensuring precise alignment between hardware selection and power requirements. The 5kW off-grid energy storage system utilizes eight 550W high-efficiency monocrystalline silicon solar panels, each with a conversion efficiency of over 23%, for a total photovoltaic installed capacity of 4.4kW, enabling full utilization of local solar resources; The energy storage component features a 10kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack with a cycle life exceeding 6,000 cycles, meeting daily electricity storage needs; The power conversion and control system is equipped with a 5 kW 48 V off-grid inverter and a 48 V 80 A MPPT solar controller, along with a 4-input 1-output combiner box, ensuring efficient collection and stable output of solar power.

The 10kW system has been further upgraded: the number of photovoltaic modules has been increased to 20 550W solar panels, bringing the total installed capacity to 11kW to meet higher load demands; the energy storage system utilizes three 10kWh lithium-ion battery packs, providing a total storage capacity of 30kWh to ensure continuous power supply even during cloudy or rainy weather; The control and conversion systems have been optimized simultaneously, featuring two 48V 80A MPPT controllers, one 10kW 48V inverter, and two 6-input 1-output combiner boxes. This configuration ensures stability during the coordinated operation of multiple modules and prevents equipment failures caused by power fluctuations.

The core competitive advantage of this solution lies in its deep adaptation to local usage scenarios in South America. Research shows that most regions in South America have dual-voltage load requirements of 110V (for residential use) and 220V (for industrial use). Traditional single-voltage output systems require the installation of additional transformers, which not only increases costs but may also lead to power loss. Shangwei Electric has specifically designed the inverters for both systems to operate in a dual-voltage adaptive output mode. Through a built-in voltage regulation module, the system automatically switches between 110V and 220V output based on the load type, without requiring manual intervention. This adaptability covers residential appliances such as refrigerators and air conditioners, as well as commercial and industrial loads including small-scale machine tools and commercial lighting.

Taking into account the local average of 5 hours of effective daily sunlight, the R&D team optimized the ratio of photovoltaic power to energy storage capacity, achieving a daily power generation of approximately 17 kWh for the 5 kW system and approximately 50 kWh for the 10 kW system. Taking a typical three-person household in South America as an example, the average daily power generation of the 5 kW system can meet daily lighting and appliance needs, with surplus electricity stored for nighttime use; a 10 kW system can support the basic electricity needs of small supermarkets, community clinics, and similar facilities, significantly reducing reliance on the traditional power grid.

In addition, the system incorporates several practical technical designs: the MPPT controller features dynamic maximum power point tracking, maintaining a tracking efficiency of over 98% even under fluctuating sunlight conditions such as cloudy or overcast days, thereby increasing power generation; The lithium-ion battery pack features a sealed design with waterproof and dustproof properties, making it suitable for the humid and dusty climates found in parts of South America; simultaneously, the entire system supports maintenance-free operation, requiring only a visual inspection every six months, which significantly reduces operational and maintenance costs for local users.

This bulk export represents not only a major breakthrough for Shangwei Power in expanding its South American market but also demonstrates the technical prowess of China’s new energy equipment in the field of “localized customization.” In the future, the company plans to introduce more tailored solutions based on the solar irradiance and climatic conditions of different regions in South America, thereby driving the widespread adoption of clean energy locally.
